Bluegrass Underground Bangkok is a grassroots community dedicated to fostering and celebrating Bluegrass, Old Time, and Irish traditional music in Thailand. What started as informal jam sessions has grown into a thriving gathering of musicians and enthusiasts, creating a space where tradition meets a new audience.
Bangkok’s unique position as a global travel hub means we regularly welcome world-class musicians passing through—alongside a strong core of local players who keep the music alive week after week. Whether it’s a casual jam, a high-energy performance, or a deep dive into the history of these styles, our community brings people together through shared tunes and timeless traditions.
We organize live sessions, performances, and special events, including the South Eastern Old Time Gathering, Bangkok’s first festival dedicated to these rich musical traditions. Whether you play, listen, or just want to experience something new, you’re always welcome to join the jam. 🎻🪕🎶
